Using devices in 10 Bay’s Amenity Spaces

Using devices in 10 Bay’s Amenity Spaces

Below are instructions for how to connect different devices to the 10 Bay Residence audio/visual (AV) equipment. These instructions are useful for situations like sharing media for a presentation, or even something as simple as hooking up a game console to the Theatre Room TV.

Guides available:

For the purposes of clarity, we will be using the term “Casting” to refer to wirelessly broadcasting your screen to a TV. In certain cases, there are HDMI cables in the room that enable you to display your device on the screen. Instructions for those devices vary, but instructions can be found for Windows and Mac. Further support for university devices can be found by contacting University Technology Services (UTS) or your department’s IT department, if applicable.

Please be mindful of others in shared spaces (such as the Senator’s Lounge) before using remote devices. If reservation of a space is needed to ensure access, please get in touch with the Service Desk on Floor 1.

Disclaimer: McMaster University and Housing & Conference Services are not responsible for the damage potentially caused by improper use of third-party devices with our screens. Action will be taken to prevent abuse or improper use of our facilities, including the use of our screens, cables and devices.
