Finding time for breakfast, lunch, and dinner is hard enough with a busy schedule, you shouldn’t have to struggle with choosing where to eat. No matter what you are craving, we’ve got you covered with some of the best food your meal card can buy.
FOR THE VEGETARIAN
Worried about staying vegetarian at school? Look no further than Bridges Cafe in the Refectory Building. Located just steps away from Wallingford and Matthews Residences, Bridges Cafe is known for its meat-free dishes and poetry nights. With vegan and vegetarian options and fresh daily specials, there is always something new to try.
Favourite dish: Chickpea Shawarma Wrap
FOR THE ADVENTUROUS
If you are looking to try something new, head over to East Meets West Bistro located on the first floor of the Mary E. Keyes building. This upscale style dining hall has meal options from all over the world. Stop by any day of the week to enjoy a freshly made burger or stone oven baked enchiladas. They serve up Halal certified dishes as well as gluten-free options.

FOR THE CAFFEINE LOVER
Often one of the longest lines on campus, the Starbucks in the McMaster University Student Centre is a favourite among staff and students alike. Grab a regular brewed coffee or try something out of the ordinary, this Starbucks makes all of the regular seasonal specials. You can use the funds from your meal card’s flex account for any food or drinks at this Starbucks location.
Favourite Dish: Chai Latte and Pumpkin Loaf
FOR THE LATE-NIGHT DELIVERY
When everything on campus has closed for the day many students turn to off-campus eating for a good meal. A favourite for many is Westdale’s Basilique. Serving up Mediterranean food as well as classic wings and pizzas, Basilique is open for delivery until 12:30 am on weekdays and 2:30 am on weekends. They deliver to any of the residences on campus and accept McMaster meal plans as payment, making it perfect treat for late night study sessions.

FOR THE BREAKFAST OBSESSED
Staying at school over the weekend and missing those big breakfasts from back home? Centro has you covered! Every Saturday and Sunday head down to Centro at Commons for their famous waffle bar, as well as breakfast classics such as bacon, eggs, french toast and a large fruit bar. Just make sure you don’t miss it, as the breakfast specials are only available until 2:30 pm. This breakfast selection is the perfect start to a day of studying or the perfect end to a late night out.
Favourite Dish: Waffles with Strawberries and Whipped Cream
Try exploring all of the meal plan food options on and off campus, there are endless dishes waiting to be discovered. Regardless of where you choose to eat, make sure you are maintaining a healthy and full diet. Young adults should be consuming at least 2,000-2,300 calories on average per day depending on the particular individual.
