Job Summary
Serves as Residence Ambassador (RA) for visitors to McMaster. Follow established script when conducting room tour. RAs show off their residence rooms and discuss the benefits and advantages of living on campus. Ambassadors also act as the ‘face of residence’ on key recruitment days such as Fall Preview (7-hour day shift).
Two Types of RAs
- Regular RA
- Full-year commitment (September – April)
- Expected to attend mandatory training on Sunday, September 7, 2025
- Expected to work a minimum of three 1-hour tours a month, with job training beginning in early September, with the potential to work more shifts if desired.
- Mandatory working dates: Fall Preview Open House: October 25 and November 15 2025
- Special Event RA
- Expected to attend mandatory training on Sunday, September 7, 2025
- Required commitment: Three Saturdays of work (open fall house dates plus a Saturday tour), with the potential to pick up odd/random shifts throughout the school year.
- Mandatory working dates: Fall Preview Open House: October 25 and November 15 2025
Accountabilities
- Answer routine inquiries regarding student experience in residence
- Provide directed support for office operations and events
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Confirmed to be living in a McMaster main campus residence building for the upcoming academic year.
Qualification: Previous customer service experience in work or volunteer capacity is preferred.

- Submission of a letter of intent/interest in becoming a Residence Ambassador. You must include the name of your residence building and room number in the cover letter.
