Where do I get my laundry card?

  • The laundry cards are distributed without any value on them. You can load your card using your debit card, credit card or cash at the Reload Kiosks located at either the Mary Keyes or Commons Service Centres. You can also purchase value online using your debit or credit card. Visit www.smartlaundry.ca . You can register your card online and load your card with a selected value. You will receive a Pin Code that you can redeem at the Value Code Kiosk located in the laundry room.

How do I register and load my card using www.smartlaundry.ca?

If you have chosen “New Customer Registration”, enter your information.

  • Follow the directions as indicated on the website. The most important part of the process is to enter the last 6 digits of the number printed on the back of your laundry card. For example, Card # 0215641, please enter 215641.
  • Enter your four digit site code – McMaster Site Code is 3467.
  • Select your Region. Please note Eastern Region includes Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic Provinces.
  • Click on Create My Account and continue to register your payment card.

If you have chosen not to register your card:

  • Select “Click Here to Continue Without Registration”.
  • The most important part of the process is to enter the last 6 digits of the number printed on the back of your laundry card. For example, Card # 0215641, please enter 215641.
  • Enter your four digit site code – McMaster Site Code is 3467.
  • Select the Amount you would like loaded to your card.
  • Select your payment type.
  • Select your Region. Please note Eastern Region includes Ontario.
  • Continue following Payment directions.

Once you have obtained your Pin Code, please jot it down. Visit the Value Code Kiosk conveniently located in the laundry room of your residence. Place your laundry card in the blue cardholder and follow the directions on the display for Value Code. You must enter the amount of value you purchased. For example ($10.00) would be entered as 1000. Then press OK. Then enter the value code and press OK. The amount your purchased will be added to your card.

What address do I use to register my card?

  • You must register your card using your campus residence address, however, the address for your payment card must be the address that your payment card bill is sent to.

How much can I load to my Laundry Card?

  • You can load as little as $10 and as much as $99.00 to your laundry card. Your laundry card balance can never exceed $99.00.

Can I use my Student Account to load my laundry card?

  • No. It is not possible to charge your student account to load your laundry card.

How do I use my card?

  • Once the card is loaded you can do your laundry. Load your items into the Washer. Place your detergent products into the dispenser of the washer. Close the door. Select Cycle and then hold your laundry card to the card reader for 4 seconds.

What if I lose my card?

  • If you lose your laundry card, unfortunately, you have lost both the card and the value loaded on it. You can purchase a new card at the Reload Kiosks located at either the Mary Keyes or Commons Service Centres.
