Residence Move-In 2022

Move-In is here! While you pack, take a look at all the information you’ll need to know to make sure you are prepared when you arrive to campus.

Late Arrivals

Arriving after move-in weekend (Aug 27 & 28)? Please proceed to the Service Centre closest to your residence building to check-in.

Review a campus map to determine the best parking lot for your move-in.

Where to eat

On-campus dining options will be available to students and their move-in helpers.

Check the Hospitality Services website for their hours.

Bring Your Own Water Bottle!

We have filtered water taps throughout our residence buildings that are marked with a Bring Your Own Bottle label.

We will also have hydration stations at move-in where you can refill your water bottles! Learn about the B.Y.O.B campaign in the video below, and find out where the filtered water stations are on the map! Learn more about BYOB!

Where can I pick up my Student Card?

Moving-in after August 28? Check the Registrar Office’s website for more details.

If you did not upload your student card photo prior to the August 15 deadline, you will be able to pick up your student card from Gilmour Hall 108 starting Monday, August 29.

More Answers to help you prepare for move-in!

As McMaster paused its mask mandate as of June 1, 2022, you and your helpers are not required to wear a mask on campus. However, please always be respectful of the comfort levels of those around you.

As per the Fridge Policy, you are not allowed to bring your own mini-fridge into residence. You are welcome to rent a mini-fridge through Coldex. If you are living in a traditional triple or quad room, you will receive a large mini-fridge on us.

If you are in any other room type and order your fridge before August 20th, it will be waiting for you when you move in.

If you did not pre-book a mini fridge before August 20th, 2022, you can still order a fridge online and pick it up from outside residences on Friday, September 2nd. Please see the Coldex website for times you need to meet the truck outside your residence.
