Open Learning Communities (OLCs) bring together first‑year students living in residence who share similar interests and want to connect with others. OLCs do not require an application and are open to everyone, even students who are already part of another Living Learning Community (LLC).
OLCs host monthly, drop‑in‑friendly events held across different residence buildings, making it easy to join in at any time during the year. Events are casual, grades‑free, and designed to help you meet people, try new things, and explore your interests in a low‑pressure setting. OLCs offer a simple way to build community and grow personally and academically right here in residence.
Bring your love for the arts to life by connecting with students and the wider McMaster community. Express your creativity through community art projects and engaging, art-based workshops.
Passionate about science, technology, engineering, and mathematics? This unique OLC creates opportunities for hands-on learning through events such as problem solving, experimentation, study sessions, career building workshops, and interactive events.
