Sustainable Futures
Welcome to the Sustainable Futures Living Learning Community (LLC)! Here, you will join a vibrant group of first-year students passionate about sustainability and environmental stewardship. As a partner of the Interdisciplinary Minor in Sustainability, we will explore innovative solutions to sustainability challenges, engage in hands-on projects, and build a greener future. Students will have access to programming that could include bees or bat box projects, waste and recycling initiatives, sustainability-themed field trips, and collaborative student-led projects. Join our community today and gain experiential learning opportunities, build a strong network of like-minded peers and professionals, and develop leadership and teamwork skills!

Programs & Opportunities
This community is designed to empower first-year students to develop experiential sustainability skills, foster leadership and teamwork, and build a supportive network of like-minded peers and professionals dedicated to environmental stewardship.
Opportunities for members of the Sustainable Futures community may include:
- Off-campus field trips to many of Hamilton’s natural features such as waterfalls, Cootes Paradise, Royal Botanical Gardens, Hamilton’s Farmer’s Market, McMaster Forest,
- Hands-on sustainability projects within the McMaster and Hamilton community
- Invasive species removal and tree planting initiatives
- Opportunities for leadership roles in organizing and executing sustainable events/projects
- Sustainable Hamilton tours through sustainable modes of transportation such as bikes, buses, and hikes
- Connect with upper year sustainability ambassadors
