McMaster Move-In Information

Move-In information and links

With move-in day fast approaching, there’s a few things you can do to be ahead of the game.

Labelling Boxes

Make sure all of your belongings are clearly labelled; this will help move-in volunteers deliver your packages to their proper location. Label your belongings with your name, residence and room number.

Car Tags

Have your barcode ready! One week prior to Move-In, you will receive an email from Residence Admissions with your unique check-in barcode on your Car Tag. Residence staff will scan this code and digitally check you into residence during move-in; please make sure to have government-issued ID on hand to confirm your identity.

Where do I shop?

Forgot a few things at home? No worries! There are lots of places nearby where you can go to find everything you need for residence!

What's in your Move-In envelope?

Upon arrival, you will receive a yellow residence pouch which contains a laundry card, your room key and your residence building fob. These will be necessary to enter your building, and pay for laundry.

Your move-in package also comes with sticky tabs for hanging posters. These are the only tabs that should be used to hang up any decorations in your room, to prevent any damage to your walls. 3M Command Strips or double-sided tape will damage the walls.

Your kit will include important emergency contact information and helpful numbers around campus.
