Residence Information System

What is the Residence Information System?

In order to better meet the needs of the community we have recently upgraded the technology that is used to drive the Residence Information System. The technology we are now using is called Screenscape and it allows us to better integrate and share content in a way that is intuitive and easy to manage.
The Residence Information System is a digital signage initiative which utilizes a leading software program to broadcast interactive & dynamic content (images and video) via LCD screens/speakers located throughout all 12 residence buildings, which serve as home to approximately 3700 McMaster Students. What are the key benefits of this system to campus partners?
  • Expedited message distribution to residence students
  • Cost savings realized through digital (not paper) production & distribution
  • Enhanced versatility of customized messaging to individual residence communities
  • Increased opportunity for creativity and professionalism of advertising content
