Health and Wellness Living Learning Community
How Far Will You Go?Health and Wellness is an inclusive and diverse community for students who are passionate about a lifestyle involving healthy active living. Students in the community will be inspired to realize their potential through healthy active strategies and practices. Health and Wellness students will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of experiences focusing on all aspects of personal well-being (e.g. diet/nutrition, exercise, sports, mental health, etc.). Through participation in the Health and Wellness community, students will identify the connections between physical health, mental health, and academics while learning about and developing resources to support healthy behaviours beyond first year.

Each Living Learning Community offers a variety of activities and programs that make up key parts of the residence experience. We strongly encourage residents to take advantage of the many of the unique activities and events offered. Students can participate in as many or as few LLC events as they would like but the more events you participate in the more opportunities you will have to connect with fellow students and other members of the McMaster community.
Programs & OpportunitiesHealth and Wellness students will meet McMaster faculty and staff members and discuss skills for improving personal health and learn about ongoing research at McMaster around physical health and fitness. Events for this community include regular opportunities for physical activity that connect to a variety of exercise types, as well as guest speakers, themed workshops, and involvement in research. Health and Wellness residents will be actively encouraged to participate in the academic and social aspects of the university and the surrounding community. Activities may include tours, social events and volunteer experiences at the university as well as:
- Nutrition/Healthy Diet Series
- Workout/Exercise Series
- Faculty Speakers
- Intramural Participation
- Couch to 5k (and Beyond) Program
- Participate in the historic Around the Bay competition with your community
