Teaching & Coaching Living Learning Community

Who Will You Inspire?

This community will serve students who have a passion and interest in teaching or coaching. Living in this community, you will have the opportunity to learn the basic fundamentals of teaching and coaching methods, while learning about various avenues these skills can be used in (i.e. being a classroom teacher). Skills and opportunities that will be offered within this community may include motivational interviewing, group facilitation, and mentorship.
In the Teaching & Coaching community, you will have opportunities to participate in skill-building workshops led by McMaster faculty and staff, volunteer with local organizations (such as schools and community centres), and engage with their peers around related. Through your involvement in Teaching & Coaching, you will gain the skills, knowledge, and confidence to become effective teachers and leaders in your personal life and beyond.

Why Join the Teaching & Coaching Living Learning Community?

Participating in the Teaching & Coaching Living Learning Community, you will have the opportunity to:
  • Learn about best practices in teaching and coaching
  • Practice teaching and coaching methods through activities available at McMaster
  • Gain valuable teaching and coaching experience through volunteer opportunities
Each Living Learning Community offers a variety of activities and programs that make up key parts of the residence experience. We strongly encourage residents to take advantage of the many of the unique activities and events offered. Students can participate in as many or as few LLC events as they would like but the more events you participate in the more opportunities you will have to connect with fellow students and other members of the McMaster community.
