RA Positions:
- Regular RA
- Full-year commitment (September – April)
- Mandatory in-person training on Sunday, September 8, 2024
- Mandatory working days:
- Saturday, October 26th: Fall Preview Open House (full day)
- Saturday, November 16th: Fall Preview Open House (full day)
- Minimum of three 1-hour tours a month, with more shifts available if desired
- Special Event RA
- Minimal commitment, plus occasional shifts through the year

Under general supervision of the Living Learning Coordinator(s), the successful candidate will assist with the planning, organization, and implementation of various projects and events for the Residence Education department. Work is performed in accordance with standard procedures and guidelines.
As an ambassador of the Housing & Conference Services Team, the Graduate Community Leader will play an important role in creating an exemplary living environment that sets 10 Bay apart from all other housing opportunities for graduate students.
The GCL will focus on developing a strong sense of community within the building and helping students adjust to life as a McMaster Graduate student. The GCL will focus on building an environment within the 10 Bay Graduate residence that promotes personal dignity, mutual respect, and consideration for others.

Perform a variety of routine tasks for events including the set-up and take down of materials, answering basic inquiries, and assisting with the overall operation of events. Work is routine and performed under
established guidelines:
- Assist with the set-up and take-down of materials for various events.
- Answer basic inquiries in-person, via email or phone and escalate issues when necessary based on established departmental guidelines.
- Assist with other related duties to contribute to the overall operation of events under direct guidance.
The Guest Registration Assistant (GRA) assists with upholding and enforcing McMaster Residence’s Guest Policy while acting as an ambassador of the Residence Life unit and the Housing & Conference Services Department.
The GRA will work with the Community Advisors, Residence Life Area Coordinators, other members of the Residence Life Management Team, and members of the Service Centre team in fulfilling their job requirements.

Leading a team of 7 Residence Orientation Assistants (ROAs), as well as 130+ Welcome Week reps, the Residence Orientation Planner will provide direction, and put your decision making and organizational skills to the test. Applicants must be planning to attend McMaster as a full-time undergraduate student in September 2024.

As an ambassador of the Residence Life Office, the CA will develop a community support system in an assigned area that promotes personal dignity, mutual respect and consideration for others. They will assist in dealing with transitional needs, social integration and belonging of residence students by delivering interactive activities and ensuring the physical, mental, and social safety of all participants.
Assist with move-in, Welcome Week Orientation Training, and Welcome Week!
Qualifications: Must be a full-time student.

Residence Building Operations is responsible for ensuring a healthy, safe, secure, comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing residential experience. During the fall winter months, Facilities focuses on providing our residence students with a positive residential experience, takes the opportunity to enhance the residences with capital renewal initiatives and a comprehensive repair and preventive maintenance programme, and keeps all common spaces clean.
Assists with the completion of housekeeping tasks. Work is routine and performed under direct supervision according to established procedures. This role is exclusive to suites used by summer conference guests.
Under close supervision, the Senior Community Advisor will plan, organize, and implement team building and programming opportunities while assisting with various projects in accordance with established guidelines. The Senior Community Advisor position is a live-on position in residence.
Student Summer Job Opportunities
Working with the Manager, Information Systems, the successful applicant will provide technical assistance to resolve staff computing problems within the Housing and Conference Services Department. The primary responsibilities are to assist with creating service documentation, providing excellent customer desktop support, inventory tracking, and resolving IT problems in a timely manner.
Full-time dates: May through September, 2024
Schedule: Monday through Friday, with some weekend work depending on operational needs

Hourly rate: Starting at $17.00/hour
The Residence Life Project Assistant will work closely with the Coordinator, Training & Development, and other members of the Residence Life Management Team (RLMT) to assist with Residence Life Staff Training, Community Advisor on-boarding, as well as large-scale projects within the office. This position requires an individual who is self-motivated, takes initiative, and is capable of functioning both independently and in a team setting.
The Residence Life Project Assistant is professional, communicates effectively with others, and has a positive attitude. They are organized, reliable, and thorough, and demonstrate creativity and sound problem-solving skills.

Housing & Conference Services is seeking an enthusiastic, eager to learn, and motivated McMaster students for the position of Communications Assistant.
This position will work in a supportive team environment to welcome all inquiries through our digital front-facing communications (Live chat, email, social media) channels in a 24/7 environment. As well, we will have a dedicated person dedicated to the “Content Creator” portfolio who will focus on building media content that will be shared widely across a variety of mediums. This person should be proficient with social media and video editing software.

Student maintenance helpers will assist full-time trades staff in completing repair/ preventive maintenance work required throughout all residence buildings.

The Office Support Assistant will assist the Financial team in Housing and Conference services perform a variety of financial transactions and clerical duties.

The Project Assistant in the Projects and Performance unit will work closely with the Projects and performance team to assist with the planning and executing of Housing and Conference projects and initiatives. This position requires an individual who is self- motivated, adaptable, takes initiative and is capable of functioning both independently and in a team setting.
Full-time dates: May through September, 2024
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Additional hours outside of normal hours may be needed. Operational demand may require working some weekends. For example: Residence Move-In weekend in late August.
