Residence Move-In 2024

Move-in is almost here! While you pack, take a look at all the information you’ll need to know to make sure you are prepared when you arrive to campus.

Move-In Information

Building Move-In Dates

Students will move into residence on one of two dates, depending on which residence they live in. More details surrounding move-in will be sent closer to Move-In Weekend, including students’ move-in time slot.

Know where to park?

Parking for each building during Move-In is as follows:

  • Lot M: Bates
  • Stadium Underground: Hedden, Woodstock, PGCLL, Les Prince
  • If parking lots are at capacity, additional parking is available in Lot M with shuttle bus access to central campus
  • We encourage those who have already moved in or left campus and are returning to campus to park in Lot M
  • The Shuttle Bus runs 9:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. providing transportation between Lot M and central campus

  • Lot I (may also use Lots B and C if available): McKay, Whidden, Brandon, Edwards, Mary Keyes, Matthews, Wallingford, Moulton

What to Bring

Here’s a small list of suggestions to bring to residence. You can find an expanded list here.

  • Essential ID, such as passport, driver’s license, or health card/health information
  • A badge holder or lanyard for your student card
  • Earplugs, toiletries, bathrobe, shower shoes and a way to store them
  • A hamper, laundry bag, and detergent
  • Cleaning supplies, such as paper towels, disinfectant wipes, and a trash can
  • Microwave-safe containers, drinkware, or mugs
  • Laptop/cell phone charger, power bars (with surge protector)

What Not to Bring

Some items are best left at home, or may interfere with your time in residence. Some examples include:

  • Your own refrigerator (please reserve through Coldex)
  • Sound system amplifiers or subwoofers (laptop/PC speakers are okay)
  • Pets, including fish or tank-based animals
  • Curtains
  • Clothes irons or ironing boards
  • Humidifiers, candles
  • Anything that will alter the condition of your room
