Global Perspectives
Ready to Change the World? McMaster’s Residence Life Office has partnered with The Socrates Project to bring together students who are interested in cross-cultural learning, global diversity, and complex international issues. Through facilitated workshops, dialogue, and reflection, students in this living community will be encouraged to ask questions, push boundaries and find common ground while focusing on exploring the complex ideas that shape our shrinking world. Through active engagement with the Global Perspectives LLC, students will develop an increased awareness of self and how they can affect change in their world. If you are dedicated to celebrating the commonalities and differences between cultures on personal, local and global levels, then Global Perspectives is right for you!

Each Living Learning Community offers a variety of activities and programs that make up key parts of the residence experience. We strongly encourage residents to take advantage of the many of the unique activities and events offered. Students can participate in as many or as few LLC events as they would like but the more events you participate in the more opportunities you will have to connect with fellow students and other members of the McMaster community.
Programs & Opportunities
Students in the Global Perspectives community will meet McMaster faculty members and community experts from a variety of disciplines and discuss skill-building practices essential for global agents of change.
Events for this community include faculty and community expert visits, Model UN Mini-Conference, trending topic panels, and service-learning opportunities. Global Perspectives students will have several opportunities to participate in the academic and social aspects of the university and the surrounding community.
The Global Perspectives LLC will help residents get connected to the McMaster community by introducing them to experiences within the campus and Hamilton community. Students will be encouraged to branch out into the community with tours, social events, and volunteer experiences at the university and surrounding area.
