Student Job Opportunities - Academic Year Positions
Each student leader has a clear and distinct role in contributing to the residence community and must abide by the honour code.
Residence Orientation Representatives are volunteer student leaders that work with the broader McMaster Community to host McMaster Orientation Week as well as help transition the first-year residence students to Campus. This position will allow you to work with several other student leaders across campus as well as sharpen your event planning and networking skills.
ROR Expected Scheduled Hours per Week:
- Thursday August 21, 2025
- Saturday and Sunday August 23rd and 24th, 2025 – Residence Move In
- McMaster Welcome Week – Monday August 25 – Saturday August 30th, 2025
The ROR Application will open on Monday February 3, 2025 and close on Monday February 24, 2025 at 11:59 p.m.

Leading a team of 7 Residence Orientation Assistants (ROAs), as well as 130+ Welcome Week Residence Reps, the Residence Orientation Planner (ROP) will provide overall direction and leadership to the Residence Welcome Week Team. This position will allow you to put your decision making and organizational skills to the test. Applicants must be planning to attend McMaster as a full-time undergraduate student in September 2025.
ROP Expected Scheduled Hours per Week:
- February 10 – May 1, 2025 Part-time – up to 15 hours a week
- May 1 – September 2, 2025 Full Time – up to 35 hours a week
- September 2 – Friday Oct 3, 2025 Part Time – up to 15 hours a week
